Faina Bee is a family business, combining the apiary and craft honey desserts production
It was all started by the grandfather seventy years ago and in 2020 we decided to develop our apiary and make it a business – so we started to enlarge the number of hives and 2022 supposed to be the year of intensive growth
Effect of the war
2022 season in Kharkiv was too challenging – bees, trying to escape from constant explosions, flew away, so the apiary even reduced. In addition, the bulk price of honey went down and didn’t cover the cost of production. The situation gave company an impulse to start food processing and to create a range of craft honey desserts
Resulting challenges
Company arranged the production facilities but are still working on increasing sales. And main problems here – Ukrainian market is going down and people are not aware of benefits of creamed honey or other honey desserts
The sought-for solution
Company launched Instagram page and website for customers in Ukraine, placed products in Kharkiv stores and the sales level is still not enough. That’s why we are seeking to enter EU market
